The hosts scraped into the Top 16 with a 4-6 record in the regular season while the team from Krasnador had an excellent campaign, qualifying with an 8-2 record. The Top 16 gives teams the chance to start afresh but equally, it isn’t going to provide a magic wand to transform teams in the blink of an eye.
While the regular season was a bit of a slog for the Zagreb side, they did have some players that stood out from the crowd. Luka Babic delivered a number of great all round performances in the regular season and Jacob Pullen and Nemanja Gordic both offered up strong performances at times. The home crowd will attend in hope rather than expectation but they may be rewarded for their efforts.

Draper returns to Zagreb
For the away team, Dontaye Draper will be returning to Zagreb to play his former team for the first time. Back in 2011 Draper was the MVP in the Eurocup for the Zagreb side and he will likely receive a very warm welcome from the fans on his return. The strength of the Lokomotiv campaign so far this season has been built on the back of a very good defence, which offered up a low record in the league of 68.3 points per game. If Krasnador can maintain this level of defensive play in the Euroleague Top 16, they could be in with a good chance of progressing to the Final Four, which would represent an excellent season.
