We have 18 days to wait until the Final Four of the EuroLeague tips off, and this seems like a lifetime right now. However, if you are a European basketball betting fan, you should use this time wisely, focusing on the sides who are most likely to triumph in Cologne at the end of May.
There is a good blend of teams in this seasons Final Four. Two of the teams are no strangers to the business end of the tournament, and they were involved in the most recent game. We also have two sides who haven’t featured this deeply in a EuroLeague event for some time.
FC Barcelona vs. AX Armani Exchange Milan
For FC Barcelona, the end of their Final Four drought has been a welcome one. The side got off to a tricky start, but in the end, they ran out convincing winners in the regular season. This, plus their hard-fought Playoffs victory means that FC Barcelona are playing in the Final Four for the first time in seven years.
This will seem like a long time for the Catalan club and their fans, but it will seem like nothing compared to the way endured by Milan.
The Italian team haven’t been in the Final Four for 29 years! They will be desperate to win their first EuroLeague title since 1988, although they have won the title on three occasions. Milan are an illustrious name, with a tremendous pedigree in European basketball, but it is time for them to do something in the modern game.
CSKA Moscow vs. Anadolu Efes Istanbul
With each EuroLeague team playing each other in the course of the regular season, games at this end of the season are between two teams who know all about each other. However, this is a clash between two sides who know all about each other at the cutting edge of the tournament.
The most recent EuroLeague final was between CSKA Moscow and Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Therefore, one of these teams will be playing in the final again, while the other will fall short at the semi-final stage.
There was no EuroLeague final last season, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, so there has been a long time for this stage of the competition to resurface.
The score in the final of the 2018/19 season was:
- Anadolu Efes Istanbul 83 – 91 CSKA Moscow
Therefore, the Turkish side have a big score to settle in this clash. If they were to gain revenge, it would be a shock, but then again, Anadolu have enjoyed a tremendous season, and they deserve their shot at glory.
All the teams at this stage of the EuroLeague are very familiar with their rivals, and there will be few surprises that can be sprung in the Final Four. However, all teams have plenty of time to work on the big occasion, even allowing for domestic activities, between now and then.
Regardless of games at home, excitement is building for the grand finale to the EuroLeague season.
