The Action Keeps Coming In The NBA
Sunday was an action packed day for NBA fans, with a great number of games offering up plenty of basketball betting opportunities. The Nets grabbed a 104-96 win over the Orlando Magic and the Thunder were triumphant at home against the Kings by a score of 101-93. The Heat were happy on the road in Dallas, defeating the Mavericks by a score of 96-105 and the Trail Blazers were delighted with a home win against the Nuggets, triumphing by a score of 116-100.
In a very close run thing, the Utah Jazz grabbed a crucial on the road win against the Detroit Pistons, the final score being 96-7. The Raptors were very comfortable with a 120-88 in against the 76ers and the Phoenix Suns won by a score of 107-95 against the Warriors. The Lakers finally got a win, bringing their terrible form to a close with a 107-92 win against the Hornets, which was all down to a fantastic second half showing.
These games brought one week of great NBA action to a close but with plenty of games lined up for Monday, a new week of NBA action is underway.
Atlanta Hawks @ New York Knicks
The Hawks 2-3 record goes up against the 2-5 record of the Knicks, so it is not as if we are looking at two teams on form going into this match. The Knicks are facing their fifth defeat in a row and they are facing up to a team who have already defeated them this campaign, although the Hawks haven’t shown any form on the road just yet. The Knicks have a number of injuries to contend with, which won’t help them, but you can rest assured that this is going to be a tight affair in New York.
The Knicks are likely to still be without Pablo Prigioni, Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon in this game, but the form of Tim Hardaway Jnr since he has been deputising has been one of the few bright sparks shown by the Knicks so far.
It is a game that could go either way but the odds of 1.90 for the Hawks at -1.5 will be of interest for anyone looking to get Monday started with a degree of excitement. Bet Now!
New Orleans Pelicans @ Cleveland Cavaliers
While any win will see the Cavs fans hoping that a corner has been turned, there is a hope that the 110-101 win against Denver on Friday night will be a breakthrough game this season. LeBron James offered up 11 assists and Kyrie Irving offered 6 assists, an area where the team has struggled so far this campaign. The Pelicans are coming into this having won three games in a row and they will point to six wins out of seven games against the Cavaliers, however, this has obviously come against a Cavaliers team that didn’t have to face James or Kevin love.
Anthony Davis is a man on fire so far this season and he can also point to 30 points and 8 blocks in the most recent game between these two sides, which was a 89-100 win for the Pelicans in Cleveland back in January.
For all that Davis is on form though, there is an expectation that the Cavaliers are going to hit it off strongly in a game and the odds of 1.90 for the Cavs at +6 could well be a sensible bet if LeBron can finally haul his team into a bit of shape and form. Bet Now!
San Antonio Spurs @ Los Angeles Clippers
When you are the reigning champions, every team you face finds an added level of intensity to take you on, and this is something that the Spurs are finding out right now. The team is currently 2-3 and they have lost both of their games on the road so far this season and the Clippers will be looking to add to the woes of the San Antonio team.
A loss for the Spurs would be a third defeat in a row, the second coming in an agonising 99-100 loss at the Pelicans on Saturday. Anthony Davis grabbed the winning points with less than 7 seconds on the clock, leaving the Spurs feeling dejected after a thrilling run which left them on the point of victory.
While the Spurs are facing teams with a renewed sense of vitality, they are also struggling with injuries, playing without Patty Mills, Tiago Splitter and Marco Belinelli. The Clippers are showing some decent form in their 4-2 record this campaign and JJ Redick showed he is in fine form with 30 points on Saturday against the Trail Blazers. Other players who have played well for the Clippers this campaign include Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
Historically, the Spurs hold the edge against the Clippers, winning 56 of 65 games between the teams but on current form, the odds of 1.90 for the Clippers at -2.5 are too good to ignore. Bet Now!
