NBA Action Keeps On Rolling
The middle of the week may seem slightly boring but this isn’t the case if you are a basketball fan. There was plenty of basketball action on offer on Wednesday night in the NBA and there were some big wins and big moments of action on offer.
The Atlanta Hawks downed the Utah Jazz by a score of 100-97 while the Phoenix Suns picked up a 112-104 win against the Nets. The Rockets grabbed a win on the road against the Timberwolves, by a score of 101-113 but there was bad news yet again for the Lakers, who lost at the Pelicans, by a score of 109-102. There was joy for the Trail Blazers with their 113-130 win in Denver, which was the biggest winning margin of the evening.
There is only four NBA games taking place on Thursday with the Bulls taking on the Raptors, the 76ers facing up to the Mavericks, the Kings challenging the Grizzlies and the Nets squaring off against the Warriors.
Chicago Bulls @ Toronto Raptors
With records of 6-2, for the Bulls, and 7-1, for the Raptors, this is a game between two teams who have shown excellent form this season and you can bet that this will be a close game in Toronto.
The home side have won five games in a row since losing at Miami at the beginning of the month but the fact that there have been two impressive comebacks in this winning run is the strongest point of the run that the Raptors are on.
The Bulls have been nearly as impressive and in this match, they will be hoping to have Derrick Rose available for the second game in a row. If this is the case, this will be the first time this has happened in a long time. Rose is still getting back to full fitness and two sprained ankles have not helped his cause. He suffered the injuries against the Cavs back at the end of October and the decision to play Rose has been coming on a game by game basis, as close to tip-off as is allowed.
When you think that the Bulls would probably prefer to start with Rose, Noah, Butler, Gasol and Dunleavy, his absence has been felt by the Bulls, who could have started even better if they were at full strength.
With odds of 1.90 for the Bulls at +2.5, you will be guaranteed an interest into the final seconds, so if you are keen to enhance your viewing entertainment for this game, this is the bet to pull out. Bet Now!
Philadelphia 76ers @ Dallas Mavericks
With the away team coming into this game with a 0-7 record, the 5-3 record held by the Mavericks looks mightily impressive and it is easy to see that many people are taking this game to be a banker home win.
One ray of sunshine for the 76ers is the fact that Michael Carter-Williams is expected to make his debut for this season but the team will be looking to win their first away game against the Mavericks in close to 10 years. This indicates that history and current form is not on the side of the 76ers, but they will be doing everything that they can to stop the horrendous run, or even runs, that they are on.
This games sees the 76ers in the middle of a four game road trip, which began with a 120-88 loss in Toronto in Sunday and will include stops in Houston and San Antonio before the team gets to play at home again. If all of the away games go against them, the 76ers will be 0-10 when they arrive home.
As you would expect from a team that has lost so often of late, defence is a real issue for the 76ers and this is something that the Mavericks will be looking to exploit. Dirk Nowitzki, who grabbed 23 points in the Tuesday night win against the Kings, will be one player who is keen to test the resolve and mettle of the 76ers backline.
The Mavericks may be able to call on Jameer Nelson but it seems as though Nerlens Noel may miss out for Philadelphia.
With odds of 1.95 for the Mavericks at -13.5, you can see plenty of fans hoping for this game to be a rout and another bad defeat for the 76ers. Bet Now!
Sacramento Kings @ Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies hold a 7-1 record and while the Kings have suffered back to back losses after a healthy winning streak, they stand at 5-3. The Kings know that this is their last of four games on the road but they are up against a team that has won 17 homes games in a row and with respect to this series, the Grizzlies have won 8 games in a row in Memphis.
The Kings lost to the Mavericks on Tuesday and the fact that they had a healthy lead at one point will be infuriating for coach Mike Malone. Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins were both in fine form, Gay grabbed 26 points, and as both of these players are former Grizzlies players, they will be keen to find their form when they arrive back in Memphis.
The Grizzlies though have a great defensive record and it will be tough for any player to grab points against them. When you add in the fact that Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol have been chipping in with a lot of points, the Grizzlies have a lot of good elements to their game these days. Gasol is averaging 17.8 points per game at the moment while Randolph sits in 16.6 points per game. The Grizzlies got a 107-102 win against the Lakers on Tuesday night, and while it wasn’t the most convincing win of the season, it kept their run going.
With the Grizzlies performing well in defence and offence, their odds of 1.90 for being -6.5 should make them a great choice for any basketball betting fans. Bet Now!
