No Let Up In NBA Action
Friday night may have been the past Friday before Christmas, bring all the standard shenanigans that this evening entails, but there was no let-up in the NBA action. There was also no let-up in the horror for the 76ers, who were downed 91-109 at home by the Hornets. The Celtics got their act together, defeating the Timberwolves by a score of 114-98 in Boston. The Nets pushed the Cavs hard but it was a 95-91 win for the home team win in Cleveland.
The Bulls downed by the Grizzlies by a score of 97-103 and the Nuggets just about held on for a 109-106 win against the Clippers. The Jazz bagged a big win on the road, defeating the Magic by a score of 94-101. The Wizards also grabbed a big road victory, with the Heat losing out 103-105.
The Raptors won yet again, defeating Detroit by a score of 1100-110 and the Trail Blazers grabbed a big win in San Antonio, defeating the Spurs 119-129. The Thunder picked up a narrow win, defeating the Lakers 103-104 in Los Angeles.
San Antonio Spurs @ Dallas Mavericks
The Spurs hold a 17-10 record, with a 9-6 record away from home, while the Mavericks have a 19-8 record, including a 9-4 record in Dallas. This could be a classic between two teams who have shown great form over the entire season, but are perhaps not at their best at the moment. This can be seen with the fact that the Spurs are coming into this on the back of three straight losses, while the Mavericks winning run stands at 2. The Spurs hold a 1-4 record while the Mavericks can boast of a 3-2 record.
The Mavericks expect Rajon Rondo to make his debut in this game, after snapping the player up from the Celtics. He joins a squad that won two games on the road coming into this match. Given that the Spurs suffered another triple OT loss on Friday, 119-129 to Portland, the second game in a row to end like this, they may look to rest players in this game.
The Mavericks have big concerns over Raymond Felton while Chandler Parsons is being closely monitored. Kawhi Leonard may miss out again, after missing two games with a hand injury and Tony Parker is still a very big doubt.
Backing the Mavericks seems to the stronger bet in this game, and with the Spurs looking to make changes, the fired-up nature of Dallas and the debut of Rondo may make them big winners so taking them with a handicap may be a smart move. Bet Now!
Milwaukee Bucks @ Los Angeles Clippers
The Bucks have a 13-13 record, with a 7-9 record away from home. The Clippers hold an 18-8 record, which includes a 10-3 record at home. The Bucks come into this game having won their last game, while the Clippers lost their last outing. The Bucks hold a 3-2 record in their last five games while the Clippers have a 2-3 record.
The Clippers lost out in Denver on Friday night but Blake Griffin was on hot form, grabbing 32 points and 12 assists in the 109-106 loss. He was assisted by Jamal Crawford grabbing 20 points while Chris Paul offered up 17 points and 15 assists.
The Bucks look set to welcome Larry Sanders back, which will be great news after he missed the Thursday night win against the Kings. In the last meeting between these sides, Sanders grabbed 15 points and 9 rebounds.
The Clippers may be missing Spencer Hawes while the Bucks have a number of players they will be keeping an eye on. Jabari Parker, John Henson and Ersan Ilasova are major doubts while Giannis Antetokounmpo and Larry Sanders are being monitored.
The Clippers should be strong enough to win this game but taking the Bucks with a handicap may be of benefit. Bet Now!
Phoenix Suns @ New York Knicks
The Suns hold a 13-14 record, with a 7-7 record away from home. The Knicks have a dismal 5-23 record, including a 3-11 record at home. The Suns won their previous game while the Knicks have lost their last 3 games. Both teams have a 1-4 record in their last 5 games, which doesn’t provide much confidence for an exciting game of basketball.
The Knicks struggled in Chicago on Thursday without Carmelo Anthony. In the 103-97 loss, Tim Hardaway Jnr managed to grab 23 points.
The Suns had been on a tough run before their Wednesday win in Charlotte, losing a number of games at the wire. However, the 106-111 win has given them a confidence boost and Isaiah Thomas was in fine form, picking up 23 points.
Goran Dragic is being monitored regularly by the Suns while the Knicks expect to be without JR Smith while they are monitoring Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.
Taking the Suns with a handicap is likely to be the best option in this game. Bet Now!
