Halloween NBA games shouldn’t be too scary
There is a great selection of NBA games on offer on Halloween, which should ensure that basketball fans will have a frighteningly good time. There are some scary bets that you may want to place to get the most of the action but no matter what you do, there will be plenty of tricks and treats on offer.
On the 30th of October, there were some big games and there was a loss for LeBron James as the New York Knicks ruined the homecoming party in Cleveland. The Washington Wizards won the enchanting battle against the Magic while the Timberwolves geared up for Halloween with a good win against the Pistons. The Clippers defeated the Thunder and the Mavericks had a big win against the Utah Jazz. As we all know though, there is very little time to rest in the NBA and the games are coming thick and fast at the start of the season.
San Antonio Spurs @ Phoenix Suns
The reigning champs are on the road and they’ll be facing a Suns team that will be desperate to continue their winning ways. Of course, the Suns are up against much tougher opposition on Friday night, and they know that they need to start racking up wins against play-off teams, if they want to be positioned for the play-off themselves.
A 119-99 win over the Lakers has created a mood of optimism in Phoenix and Isaiah Thomas achieving 23 points on his debut was a key factor in this. Goran Dragic offered up 18 points and Eric Bledsoe served up 16 points.
The Spurs had a narrow win over the Mavericks but they will be keen to grab their fourth 2-0 record in a row in this game and the performance of Manu Ginobili could be a factor. He grabbed 20 points and six assists in the win over the Mavericks and a similar showing will place the Spurs in a good place for this match. Tim Duncan picked up 14 points while the main man in the opening game was Tony Parker who offered up 23 points.
The Over/Under market is 1.90 for 205.5 and the Handicap market is evenly placed with Spurs listed at 1.90 at -1.5. With the reigning champions keen to keep on winning, this is a bet that will ensure you have an interest until the final buzzer. Bet Now!
Memphis Grizzlies @ Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are understandably expecting to find life without Paul George a little bit tough and the absence of George Hill and David West hasn’t helped matters. However, the team will be keen to build on a solid opening when the Memphis Grizzlies come to town on Friday night. With 22 points and 8 rebounds, Hibbert was the main man for the Pacers in their big win over Philadelphia on Wednesday and his physical style of basketball was the key factor in the win.
Rodney Stuckey also impressed, even more so when you think that he was carrying a big injury, but with 16 points in little over 16 minutes, you can expect Stuckey to get even better when he is fully fit and confident.
The Grizzlies are also in buoyant mood with their opening win being the first time the team has clinched victory in a season opener in 14 years. Marc Gasol got the season off to a flyer with a career high of 32 points and Zach Randolph managed to serve up 25 points in the 105-101 win over Minnesota. That was a high scoring match and there is an expectation that there will be a high score in this match too.
The Overs/Under is priced at 1.90 for 185.5. However, if you like to look back, both games last season were low scoring matches, so that may mean the best bet is to go for Unders in that market. The Grizzlies at 1.90 for -6.5 could be a great bet if you are looking to find value in this game. Bet Now!
Philadelphia 76ers @ Milwaukee Bucks
This match will be the first time Bucks fans get to see Jabari Parker on home turf and it is expected to be quite a night in Milwaukee. The team is coming into it on the back of a loss in their opening day and a poor season last campaign, there is a need to life the place and the second NBA Draft pick from June may be just the player to inspire the team and fans to a higher level.
The fact that Milwaukee blew a 24 point in the second half will have been a big blow and there is a need for the home side to bounce back strongly. Brandon Knight performed well with 22 points and 13 assists but he still missed a high number of shots, so there is room for improvement from the home team.
The 76ers also lost their opening game of the campaign and they grabbed the 3rd pick in the NBA Draft, Joel Embiid. However, after foot surgery the player could miss the entire campaign and Michael Carter Williams, the current rookie of the year, is currently out of action while recovering from a shoulder injury.
The 76ers haven’t dropped their first two games since 2010 and they will be keen to maintain that record in this game. However, the bookmakers are making the Bucks strong favourites for this one and if the home team scan score as freely as they did in their previous game, while holding it together in defence, there could be a rout on the cards.
This is why the 1.90 odds for the Bucks at -9.5 could be of interest to many fans. Bet Now!
