The latest series of victories for the Jazz (50-19, 1st in the West, 31-4 at home) was interrupted unexpectedly the day before yesterday when Utah lost to the Warriors. The final result, 119-116, reflects the close match that was decided in details, and in which Jordan Clarkson did some fantastic things on the court, finishing the game with 41 points. Croatian guard/forward Bogdanovic stopped at 27 points. Conley (G, 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists) will miss tonight’s game, and Jazz’s leader Mitchell (G, 26.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists) needs to rest so that he can be 100% ready at the beginning of the playoffs.
The Blazers are in excellent condition in recent weeks (40-29, 5th in the West, 8-2 in the last ten matches). Two nights ago, they defeated the Rockets quite easily (140-129) and are ready for another win against the Jazz. Against Houston, Lillard was the top scorer again (34 points), while Powell and McCollum stopped at 28. All players are at the disposal of Terry Stotts before tonight’s battle.
