AS Monaco (3-3) faces  CSKA (4-2) tonight in the Principality. Or we can say that Mike James faces Dimitris Itoudis, with the two men having a bad relationship since they worked alongside each other at CSKA. That, after all, is the reason why the American guard left Moscow mid-season last year.

Zvezdan Mitrovic’s team made headlines again a few hours ago, announcing Dwayne Bacon. The 26-year-old American forward will play outside the NBA for the first time in his career. And he will raise the level of the French team. Bacon has played for Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic so far. Last year he averaged 11 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists for the Magic. Together with Mike James, they are expected to threaten every defence in the Euroleague. Monaco comes from a stressful win at home game against the Crvena Zvezda (70-62). Alpha Diallo, with 18 points and 7 rebounds was their top player during that game.

CSKA short-circuited in “Astrobal” (lost 70-68 to Villeurbanne). Hackett (16 points), Voigtmann (13 points) and Shved (10 points, 5 assists) stood out (in relevant terms) for the team of Dimitris Itoudis.

Key players Shengelia, Milutinov and Grigonis, are out for CSKA, while useful tall Will Thomas and influential playmaker Westermann will be absent for the hosts.
